S7 Airlines again decided to merge the carriers Siberia and Globus. The second carrier will cease to exist after joining. The shareholder made this decision on 29 June.
“By the decision of the sole shareholder of Siberia Airlines JSC, a decision was made to reorganize in the form of Globus LLC joining it,” the company’s press service said (quote from Interfax). As specified in the message, Globus “will stop its activities through reorganization in the form of affiliation.
S7 Airlines founded the Globus carrier in 2008 as a separate airline for flights from Moscow and Novosibirsk. In 2020, Globus was attached to the Siberia carrier, and its certificate was canceled.
At the beginning of 2022, even before the events of February 24, Globus was again issued an air operator certificate in order to create a low-cost airline under the Citrus brand on the basis of the carrier. The new airline was supposed to operate interregional flights bypassing Moscow. It was planned to launch it in July 2022 based on the Airbus A320neo fleet. However, it became impossible to lease these vessels due to sanctions.
