Some Russian tour operators have received notices about changes in the rules for entry into Thailand due to the tightening of coronavirus restrictions in the kingdom. It is reported by “RIA Novosti” with reference to the travel company “Intourist”. The new rules will come into effect from January 9 to 31, but there is no official order on this yet.
In a message that Intourist gave to the agency, it is said that the cabinet of the Thai Ministry of Health “urgently adopted amendments to the entry of tourists.”
According to the innovations, all adult travelers upon entering the country will be required to provide a certificate of full vaccination (the second dose must be taken no earlier than 14 days before arrival). Instead of a certificate, you can present a certificate of recovery from coronavirus, received no more than 180 days before departure, or a certificate of medical exemption from vaccination.
All coronavirus restrictions, as well as the state of emergency introduced due to the pandemic, were canceled in Thailand on October 1. In early January, the kingdom’s health minister, Anutina Charnvirakula, said the restrictions needed to be reinstated as Thailand is an important destination for travelers from many countries, including China. In China, after the weakening of measures to contain COVID-19 in December, there was a new outbreak of the disease. Some countries, including India and Malaysia, have introduced coronavirus testing for air travelers from China.
