Trains No. 306 Sukhum-Moscow and No. 480 Sukhum-St. Petersburg were stopped on the way due to the closure of the Gagra-Tsandripsh railway section in Abkhazia. Several trains from Sochi to Gagra were also cancelled. About it reported in the press service of the Russian Railways. Earlier in Abkhazia there was a heavy downpour, which washed out the railway tracks in the region.
Passengers of trains No. 306 Sukhum-Moscow and No. 480 Sukhum-St. Petersburg, who planned to land on the territory of Abkhazia, will be delivered by bus to the Tsandripsh station, from where they will proceed to the destination stations along the route to Moscow and St. Petersburg. The special train will leave tomorrow, July 10, at 8:00 am.
Trains No. 306 Moscow-Sukhum and No. 479 St. Petersburg-Sukhum on July 10 will follow to the Tsandripsh station. From there, passengers will be taken by bus to their destination.
Also, due to the blurring of the tracks, the Lastochka train No. 924 Sochi airport-Gagra was canceled today, July 9, and trains No. 921, 922, 923, 924 between Gagra stations-Sochi airport were canceled on July 10.
There was a heavy downpour in Abkhazia the day before. As a result, there is no electricity in the Gagra district; private properties, residential buildings and streets are also flooded there. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Abkhazia recommended that residents of the republic refrain from traveling to the Gagra region. In other regions of Abkhazia the situation is stable.
