For the first quarter of 2023, the loading of export cargoes to ports on the network of Russian Railways increased by 3.9% (up to 86.2 million tons) compared to the same period in 2022, reported in the press service of the state company.
The most noticeable increase was in the handling of grain (by 2.2 times, up to 3.3 million tons), chemicals and soda (by 1.4 times, up to 540.7 thousand tons) and coal (+12.7%, up to 47,000 tons). 6 million tons). The positive dynamics of export handling was noted during transportation in the harbors of the North-West and the Far East.
In both directions, coal transportation increased markedly. In the direction of the ports of the south – grain, chemicals and fertilizers.
Coal (55.3%) became the key generating element of the export cargo flow of Russian Railways. This is followed by oil cargo (22.1%), fertilizers (5.9%), ferrous metals (4.9%), grain (3.9%) and ores (1.5%).
Loading on the networks of Russian Railways are growing for the second month in a row, but still do not reach the level of March 2021 (except for coal). Against this background, the loading of timber cargo is noticeably reduced (20-30% of the same periods of previous years).
