Russian Railways decided to freeze fares for travel in compartment cars of trains going to Adler, Anapa, Kislovodsk, Mineralnye Vody and Novorossiysk for the May holidays. About it informed Carrier’s Telegram channel.
“The ticket price will not increase even with a further increase in demand and a decrease in the number of available seats,” the message says.
As a result, passengers will be able to save about 12% on a trip during the May holidays. In addition, by the end of the year, the discount on the “non-refundable” fare in a compartment for all trains will increase to 20%.
Earlier, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said that the tourist flow in Russia increased by 19% compared to the same period last year, despite the restrictions of airports in the southern regions of the country. In the first quarter of 2023, hotel accommodation increased by 20% compared to the same period in 2022. However, the booking period has decreased – now Russians plan their trips 2-3 weeks before departure, Reshetnikov noted.
On average, the increase in the cost of living is from 7-15% per season, depending on the destinations and class of hotels, he added. The average cost of living in a three-star hotel in July will be 4,700 rubles, which is 8% more expensive than a year ago. The dynamics of prices, however, varies greatly by region. In the 3* segment, year-on-year growth in the Krasnodar Territory for the season was 19%, in Moscow – 17%, and a hotel in the Crimea, for example, you can book accommodation 8% cheaper than last summer.
