Russian Railways appoints new General Director for Passenger Complex – Kommersant

Russian Railways announced personnel changes. Pavel Burtsev, who previously held the position of First Deputy Head of the Passenger Transportation Department, has been appointed Head of the Sverdlovsk Railway (SvZhD). This is reported on site SVZhD. The former head Ivan Kolesnikov was transferred to work in Moscow and was appointed Deputy General Director of Russian Railways, in charge of the passenger complex.
Dmitry Pegov, who previously headed the passenger complex for more than six years, was appointed deputy general director of the company – head of the traction directorate, said press office RUSSIAN RAILWAYS.
Ivan Kolesnikov has been in charge of the Sverdlovsk Railway since April 2019. “Under his leadership, the railway strengthened its positions and made a qualitative breakthrough in the field of freight and passenger transportation, strengthened interaction with the constituent entities of the Russian Federation,” the SVZhD website says.
It is known about Mr. Burtsev that he began his career in 1992 as a process engineer at the locomotive depot Leningrad-Sortirovochny-Vitebsky of the October Railway. Since 2017, he has been working as First Deputy Head of the Passenger Transportation Department of Russian Railways.
