Russian Railways allowed the completion of the majority of high-speed lines by 2043

The construction of most high-speed lines (HSM) can be completed by 2043. This was discussed in an interview with RIA Novosti. told general director Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov.

“I am confident that the next twenty years will be a time of high speeds, especially in the passenger segment. In 20 years it will be 2043, I would like to see most of the listed high-speed lines built,” he said.

According to Belozerov, he expects the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railway to be put into operation by 2030. Belozerov noted that a train ticket will cost a little more than Sapsan tickets. He assumed that by this time there would already be progress on other high-speed lines to the Urals and the South.
