An experiment on the online sale of alcohol by Russian Post may be launched as early as April 2023. The operator will trade only Russian wine, deliver it within at least 24 hours after the order and sell it exclusively through a specialized showcase.
“While we are in a discussion on the bill (“On an experiment on the implementation of the retail sale of wine, fortified wine, sparkling wine from grapes grown in Russia.”— “b”), and here we are moving more slowly than with bonded warehouses. But I can express confidence that we will launch the project in April next year, there will be first shipments, ”said RBC CEO of Russian Post Maxim Akimov on the eve of the Eastern Economic Forum.
He stressed that the operator is considering unmanned cargo delivery and is currently testing it in several regions. According to Mr. Akimov, there is still a “poor choice” of Russian drone delivery vehicles on the market. “We believe that the quality (of Russian.— “b”) cars, and their offer in terms of quantity is still far from our request, ”he added.
To sell wine through the Internet services of the Russian Post in April 2021 to the operator instructed President Vladimir Putin. The launch of the project has been repeatedly postponed – it was planned to start its implementation first on January 1, 2022, then on March 31.
