On October 6, Russia and Uzbekistan entered into agreements to expand cooperation in the field of oil supplies, as well as the supply of petroleum products by rail. It was signed following negotiations in Moscow between the Presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The volumes of expected supplies were not specified.
At the same time, in the first half of 2023, as follows from Argus data, Kazakhstan reduced oil shipments to Tashkent by rail to a minimum amid an increase in exports of cheaper Russian raw materials to Uzbekistan.
