Copper fell to its lowest level in almost a year

World copper prices have reached their lowest level since early November 2022, according to trading data on the London Metal Exchange (LME). On October 3, the price of the metal dropped below $8,000/t for the first time since May, and on October 6, three-month futures were already trading at $7,899/t. Compared to the level at the beginning of the year, the decrease was 6%, and since the beginning of August – by 10%.
Trading on the Comex exchange in the United States demonstrates similar dynamics: on October 6, the price of the metal dropped to $3.56 per pound – this is the minimum since the beginning of November last year. During trading on October 6 at 17.30 Moscow time, the price for LME was $7975/t, Comex – $3.6/lb.
