The Russian Defense Ministry has signed contracts for the supply of new Chukavin sniper rifles (SVCh), which will replace the Dragunov rifles (SVD). This was announced by the president of the Kalashnikov group of companies Alan Lushnikov. He did not specify the number of rifles that will be supplied to the Russian troops.
The Kalashnikov Group of Companies is Russia’s largest arms manufacturer. 25% of the concern’s shares are owned by the state corporation Rostec, 75% – by private investors.
“The Ministry of Defense is already purchasing microwave rifles. We have signed a contract for this year, next year and beyond,” Mr. Lushnikov said. Earlier, he said that microwave rifles are already in operation in the RF Armed Forces and there are no complaints about them.
New semi-automatic microwave received for service in the special forces of the Russian army stationed in Ukraine in September. Previously in the Kalashnikov Group of Companies reported on the start of deliveries to the troops of the latest drones.
