Russian banks will ask Roskomnadzor not to prohibit the provision of services via Telegram

The Association of Banks of Russia will appeal to Roskomnadzor with a request not to prohibit credit institutions from providing services through Telegram, said Alexei Voylukov, vice president of the association. According to him, this is a “convenient additional tool”, which is a replacement for bank customers whose applications have been removed due to sanctions.

As Mr. Voylukov explained, Telegram itself does not process payment and personal information. “It’s just an interface that translates to an external browser through which operations are performed. And if it is forbidden through Telegram, then why is it not forbidden then to use online banking directly through browsers such as Safari, Chrome, IE, Edge, ”he told RIA Novosti.
