Independent expert Dmitry Tarasov notes that 1.41 trillion rubles issued by banks in May is an absolute record. The indicators were exceeded not only in December 2022 (at that time the volume of loans issued amounted to 1.38 trillion rubles), but also in December 2021 (1.39 trillion rubles). According to Mr. Tarasov, the results of May exceeded those of April for the first time since 2017.
According to research by Frank RG, lending grew in all lending segments. However, experts point out that the segments of general purpose loans and car loans showed the greatest growth.
In total, banks issued 662.5 billion rubles to the population in May. consumer loans. The volume of loans issued last month increased by 11.4% compared to April and by 245% compared to May 2022. At the same time, the average amount of a cash loan issued decreased by 6.4% to 201 thousand rubles. Car loans in May also showed growth. The volume of their issuance increased by 8% and amounted to a record 117.9 billion rubles. The average loan amount increased by 27% to RUB 1.45 million.
The volume of mortgage loans in May increased by 4% compared to the previous month and reached 591.5 billion rubles, the highest since the beginning of the year. Compared to May 2022, the growth was 319.8%. However, the average loan amount decreased by 0.34% to RUB 3.72 million.
