On December 19, EU energy ministers reached an agreement on a gas price ceiling. Limitation established at the level of €180 per MWh (or about €1.85 thousand per 1 thousand cubic meters). The ceiling will come into effect on February 15, 2023.
December 22 President Vladimir Putin signed a decree prohibiting Gazprom from buying gas from the joint venture Wintershall Dea and OMV at a higher price than the price limits set by the government. The government must set a price ceiling within ten days.
