Russia proposed to include in the future UN Tax Convention a provision on the creation of a platform for the exchange of tax information under the auspices of the organization. About it told Deputy Director of the Tax Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance Alexander Smirnov, speaking at the UN session held on February 20–22 in New York.

According to material on the Ministry of Finance website, Russia proposes to create a platform for the exchange of tax information that would be available to all participants in the process. According to Alexander Smirnov, this will make the process more transparent.

Other proposals from the Russian side were also announced at the session. In particular, we are talking about creating a framework for determining tax residency status and developing tax policy issues within the framework of climate change. In addition, Russia proposed creating a platform under the auspices of the UN for exchanging knowledge on tax administration and reviewing practices for the digital transformation of its processes.
