Russia sent India a proposal to launch a visa-free group tourist exchange between countries. This was announced by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel. Since August 1, such an agreement has been in force between Russia and China, as well as Iran.
“Now with China (launched visa-free travel exchange.— “b”). Next we have India. We sent an offer there. While work is underway through diplomatic channels, we will accelerate,” the minister said (quoted by TASS).
Maxim Reshetnikov noted that the tourism industry is now faced with the task of returning to pre-existing results in terms of inbound tourist flow. In addition, the industry needs to replace the “lost tourist flow from unfriendly countries.”
From August 1 Russia launched visa-free group tourist exchange with China and Iran. A similar mechanism was in place prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tourist group should be from 5 to 50 people, they can stay in the country for up to 15 days. The first group of Chinese tourists after the COVID-19 pandemic is due to arrive in Russia today, August 10.
