Russia more than halved investments in US government securities in April – Kommersant

The volume of Russia’s investments in US government securities fell from $77 million in March to $35 million in April. According to the reports of the US Treasury, the share of long-term bonds decreased from $68 million to $27 million, short-term – by 1 million, to $8 million.
The top 3 largest holders of US government bonds have not changed. The leaders are still Japan (its investment volume is $1.13 trillion), China ($868.9 billion) and the UK ($680.7 billion), TASS reports citing the ministry’s data.
Russia’s investments in US government securities in December 2022 reached $629 million, but in January 2023 they sharply fell to $67 million. In February, the amount of investments increased to $75 million.
