Russia in February increased investments in US government securities by $8 million

Russia increased its investment in US government securities from $67 million in January to $75 million in February, according to the US Treasury Department. The share of long-term bonds was $62 million, short-term — $13 million.
The top 3 largest holders of US government securities have not changed: Japan (its investment amounted to $1.08 trillion), China ($859 billion) and the UK ($643 billion) traditionally remain in it.
In December 2022, Russia’s investments reached $629 million, but in January of this year, the volume of investments dropped sharply by 9.3 times, to $67 million. That month, long-term bonds accounted for $54 million, and short-term ones also $13 million.
