Russia and Türkiye agreed to increase the volume of air traffic. Russian airlines will be able to operate more than 720 flights a week on 62 routes, Turkish airlines – 629 flights on 37 routes.
As reported “RIA News” in the press service of the Ministry of Transport, for the purpose of coordination, the Russian aviation authorities confirmed the applications of Turkish airlines for additional flights with a total frequency of 49 flights per week. On average, the number of flights of Russian airlines to Turkey in the summer season of 2023 will increase by 1.5 times year on year.
According to the agreements, seven flights will be made weekly on the Antalya-Saratov route, and 21 flights on the Istanbul-Moscow-Antalya-Moscow route. 14 flights are scheduled weekly in the direction: Istanbul-St. Petersburg, Antalya-St. Petersburg, Antalya-Kazan, Antalya-Yekaterinburg.
On April 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow and Ankara are interested in increasing the number of flights between the two countries. According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, more than 44 million foreigners visited the country in 2022, of which 5.2 million were Russian tourists.
