The visit to North Korea is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the signing of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation

An official delegation from the Russian Ministry of Culture, headed by Deputy Minister Andrei Malyshev, arrived in Pyongyang. During the meeting, the countries discussed the prospects for cultural exchange, the Ministry of Culture announced this in its official Telegram

Reportedly, the visit is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the signing of an agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the USSR and the DPRK. Andrei Malyshev held meetings with Deputy Minister of Culture of the DPRK Pak Kyung-chul and Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries of the DPRK Pak Gyong-il. During this time, many topics were raised. For example, prospects for cultural exchange: the opportunity for Russian cultural figures to come to the DPRK to conduct master classes and joint performances, and they also talked about sending Korean circus performers to specialized international festivals in Russia; education topic: the readiness of Russian creative universities to accept students from the DPRK for training; film industry: holding the Russian Film Festival in Pyongyang, as well as organizing an exhibition of artists from the DPRK in Russia. In addition, during the meeting, the Korean side was invited to the International Children’s Cultural Forum and the St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures.

Let us recall that on March 18, a delegation from Russia, from Primorye, was already sent to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea with the aim of establishing friendly ties with the DPRK. As the Governor of the Primorsky Territory Oleg Kozhemyako noted, the DPRK is increasingly attracting interest among our citizens who want to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of this state. That is why “it is worth traveling and making contacts in order to live with your neighbors in peace and friendship.”
