Rushimalliance filed a lawsuit against UniCredit for 45.7 billion rubles – Kommersant

Gazprom’s subsidiary, Rushimalliance, filed a lawsuit with the St. Petersburg Arbitration Court demanding that UniCredit Bank AG pay 45.7 billion rubles. on bank guarantees under a contract with the German engineering company Linde, follows from file cabinets arbitration cases. The lawsuit was filed on August 5, there is no information on the date of consideration by the court yet.
In June, Rushimalliance filed a lawsuit against Deutsche Bank demanding to pay almost 24 billion rubles. on bank guarantees, as well as a penalty for delay. Rushimalliance is also trying to get a division of the organization in the Russian Federation as a debt repayment. In the same month, Rushimalliance filed a lawsuit against another German bank – Commerzbank, the amount of claims – 9 billion rubles. In July the court accepted a lawsuit against Commerzbank for consideration, a lawsuit against Deutsche Bank – left without movement.
LLC Rushimalliance is a joint venture between Gazprom and Rusgazdobycha for the processing of ethane-containing gas and the production of liquefied natural gas in Ust-Luga.
German banks acted as guarantors of the deal between Rushimalliance and the German company Linde, a former contractor for the design, supply of equipment and construction of a gas processing complex in Ust-Luga. In July 2021, Linde signed a contract with Rushimalliance, but in June 2022 it suspended work due to EU sanctions. Then the Russian company reported that German guarantor banks also refuse to fulfill their obligations. In January 2023, at the company’s claim, the court arrested Linde’s Russian assets in the amount of 35 billion rubles.
