The Rusagro group of companies reported that the capacity of its Balakovo Oil Extraction Plant (OEP; located in the Saratov region) increased by a third – from 1.8 thousand to 2.4 thousand tons.
In a company message it saysthat the technical re-equipment of the Balakovo oil extraction plant is one of the most large-scale projects in the oil and fat business area of Rusagro. The group of companies expects that its implementation will allow the site to reach record production volumes of sunflower oil, granulated husks and meal, while improving product quality and achieving maximum production efficiency.
Representatives of Rusagro note that after modernization, the annual processing volume of the oil extraction plant will be up to 800 thousand tons of sunflower seeds.
The oil and fat business area of Rusagro occupies a leading position in the market of mayonnaise, oils and fats in Russia. The main areas of business are the purchase and processing of sunflowers, the production and sale of sunflower oil, meal, industrial fats and margarines, milk products (including cheeses and butter), as well as consumer food products, according to the company’s website. Oil and fats assets are located in Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg regions, Yekaterinburg and Primorsky Territory.
