Rosseti supported the creation of an institute of backbone network organizations

PJSC Rosseti (MOEX: FEES) supports the creation of an institute of backbone network organizations (STSO) in Russia, said Daniil Krainsky, deputy general director of the group for legal support. According to him, through such a center it will be possible, among other things, to ensure the consolidation of ownerless energy facilities.
The Ministry of Energy has been developing a bill on the creation of systemically important territorial grid organizations in Russian regions since 2021. It is assumed that one large company in each region will receive this status, and all other network organizations will enter into agreements with it for the use of their property.
During a session at Russian Energy Week dedicated to improving the reliability of the distribution network complex, Daniil Krainsky noted that now the task of ensuring the reliability of power supply is key. At the same time, he pointed out that even within the boundaries of one region, the situation with electricity supply can vary significantly.
“STSO can become a tool for resolving problems that have accumulated in the network complex. I mean, first of all, the consolidation of ownerless energy facilities, which no one has dealt with for many years, the elimination, by decision of the regional headquarters, of the consequences of accidents in the networks of energy companies that do not have the resource for this,” added Mr. Krainsky (quoted by TASS).
Currently, there are about 1.3 thousand territorial network organizations operating in Russia. However, many of them have worn-out networks, and repair work is not carried out to the required extent, noted session participants, including representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the State Duma, regions and industry companies. In addition, there is the problem of ownerless networks.
Rosseti is one of the largest electric grid companies in the world. The group includes 43 subsidiaries and affiliates, including 16 distribution grid companies. Among them are Rosseti Center, Rosseti Center and Volga Region, Rosseti Moscow Region, Rosseti Lenenergo, etc.
