Rosselkhoznadzor: Russian cheese producers began to commit fewer violations

At the end of December 2022, the share of cheese and butter producers in Russia that committed violations decreased to 10%. According to the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), in June this figure was 17%, in October – 13-15%.
“Such data were obtained by comparing the data of the Mercury component of the FSIS VetIS system and the Chestny Znak marking system, which allow us to analyze the production volumes of dairy products and the origin of raw materials for their manufacture,” the labeling operator says in a press release (quote according to TASS).
Signs of violations were found in the products of 86 out of 888 cheese producers and 179 out of 1807 butter producers. In the material
CRPT clarifies that most of the violations are recorded due to the discrepancy between the volume of the company’s final product and the raw materials it has. For example, according to Chestnoy Znak, one of the Omsk enterprises put into circulation 457 kg of kefir, but the raw materials it purchased should have been enough to produce only 0.9 kg of products.
In March 2022, the CRPT reported a 30% share of manufacturers of violators. The Center receives statistics by comparing the data of the Mercury and Chestny Znak marking systems.
