Rosneft increased oil production potential in the Irkutsk region by 4 million tons

Verkhnechonskneftegaz company, part of Rosneft (MOEX: ROSN), began development of the Preobrazhensky horizon at the Verkhnechonskoye oil and gas condensate field in the Irkutsk region. Due to the drilling and reconstruction of more than 200 wells, the production potential increased by 4 million tons of oil, reported in the press service of Rosneft.
The Preobrazhensky horizon is located at a depth of 1600 meters. Initial recoverable reserves are more than 28 million tons of oil. Verkhnechonskneftegaz specialists commissioned 10 wells, the average flow rate of which is 49 tons of oil per day.
Verkhnechonskneftegaz is developing the Verkhnechonskoye and Severo-Danilovskoye oil, gas and condensate fields in the Katangsky district of the Irkutsk region. In addition, the company acts as an operator of work at Rosneft’s licensed areas in the Irkutsk region and Krasnoyarsk Territory.
According to reporting Rosneft, in the first half of 2023, the company’s production of liquid hydrocarbons amounted to 4 million barrels per day. Against the backdrop of oil production restrictions in the second quarter, liquid hydrocarbon production decreased by 2.2%, to 3.9 million bpd. Gas production during this period increased by 31.8%, to 1.5 million bpd. n. e. per day.
