The increase in oil and condensate reserves in 2023 based on the results of geological exploration could amount to 470 million tons, Rosnedra told the agency TASS. Gas reserves may increase by 630 billion cubic meters.

Rosnedra believes that it is “premature to talk” about increasing investment in geological exploration “in the context of ongoing sanctions pressure.” At the same time, according to the department, the figure in 2023 and 2024 will maintain the “trend of previous years.” In recent years, investments have remained in the amount of about 300 billion rubles, in 2023 – 315.7 billion.

The volume of investments announced at the beginning of the year by subsoil users in geological exploration of solid minerals amounted to 78.5 billion rubles. Rosnedra expects that by the end of the year the figure will be no less than 63 billion rubles, 80% of the plan. In 2022, investments were at the level of 62.7 billion rubles. Rosnedra notes difficulties with forecasting for 2024, but believes that the amount is 64–65 billion rubles. is “quite achievable.”

Since the beginning of the year, 30 hydrocarbon deposits have been discovered in Russia. One of them is large – the R. U. Maganov oil and gas condensate field discovered by LUKOIL on the shelf of the Caspian Sea with reserves of 8.4 million tons of oil and 136 billion cubic meters. m of gas. One field is medium-sized – a field discovered by Gazprom Neft in the Orenburg region named after V.P. Orlov with reserves of 7.5 million tons of oil. The remaining deposits are small or very small in terms of reserves.
