Roskomnadzor promised to check the information about the leakage of personal data of the Mail.ru service, RIA Novosti reports. The company assured that the data that appeared on the network is associated with a leak of a third-party service at the beginning of 2022 and that nothing threatens users.
Previously Telegram channel “Information Leaks” announced the appearance in the public domain of data of 3.5 million e-mail users on the mail.ru, bk.ru, inbox.ru domains with email addresses, phone numbers, names and surnames.
Also today, President Vladimir Putin instructed government until July 1 to consider the introduction of turnover fines for companies that have leaked customer personal data. As found out Kommersant, the Ministry of Digital Development wants to increase the amount of fines for data leaks to 500 million rubles.
