FSUE “Main Radio Frequency Center” (GRC) (subordinate to Roskomnadzor) was unable to purchase equipment for monitoring the radio frequency spectrum. The GRFC recognized as failed two purchases worth about 1 billion rubles, since not a single application was submitted, reports Vedomosti with reference to the data of the public procurement portal.

Purchases were placed at the end of April. On May 18, protocols were formed for both, according to which they were recognized as failed. One of the purchases for 777.2 million rubles. meant the purchase of mobile technical radio monitoring systems on 22 vehicles for work in the Crimea. The second purchase for 208.4 million rubles. assumed the supply of a stationary small-sized technical complex for radio monitoring. It follows from the description that the complex included an antenna-feeder switching device, hardware and software and mast equipment, as well as a heating cabinet “equipped with air conditioning, fire extinguishing and alarm systems.”

A representative of the GRCHTs told the publication that radio monitoring equipment is needed to fix violations in the use of radio frequencies, radio frequency channels, radio electronic equipment and high-frequency devices in the regions. Why the purchase did not take place, he did not say. According to a Vedomosti source, the reason could be that none of the suppliers was able to offer equipment that met the technical requirements.

In May reported about the plans of the GRFC to purchase equipment for determining the location of sources of radio emission and spectrum analysis. The cost of tenders amounted to 1.77 billion rubles. The equipment was planned to be delivered to the local offices of the GRFC in the Crimea, Sevastopol and Rostov-on-Don.
