Roskomnadzor said it blocked 11 Telegram channels that intimidated Russians with new terrorist attacks. In total, 600 such stuffings were blocked at different sites.

We are recording facts of the deliberate dispersal of various falsehoods in the wake of a terrorist attack: both fakes and calls for extremist activity. We have accelerated the identification and verification of Telegram channels,” the department’s press service reported. “RIA News”.

It is alleged that Telegram channels and news feeds on other resources were blocked, “which allegedly announce new terrorist attacks in Russia.” The agency believes that such messages are aimed at intimidating the population.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov earlier statedthat the Russian authorities do not plan to block the Telegram messenger. At the same time, the press secretary noted that the creator of the messenger, Pavel Durov, needs to pay attention to the use of the social network by terrorists. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Ministry of Digital Development and Roskomnadzor are working on a project that will expand opportunities to block illegal content.

The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall occurred on March 22 before the start of the concert of the Picnic group. Armed people burst into the building, started shooting and set the building on fire. At least 143 people were killed, and another 360 were injured, according to the Center for Disaster Medicine.
