Roskachestvo found salmonella and other bacteria, including from the group of Escherichia coli, in minced chicken on the shelves. The brands Svoya, VkusVill, Chernyshikhinsky Meat and Yaroslavsky Broiler were found to contain pathogenic microorganisms, including salmonella, while Listeria was found in Troekurovo and Perekrestok. This was reported by the department to RIA Novosti.

“During the inspection, bacteria of the Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Listeria group were identified, and the meat of some brands was classified as questionable freshness. Only two trademarks can apply for the Russian “Quality Mark”,” Roskachestvo reported.

Roskachestvo investigated 18 brands of minced chicken from ten regions. Minced meat was tested for 86 safety indicators. Only two brands of all the studied ones were recognized as high quality: Petelinka and Myasnitsky Ryad. According to microbiological indicators, the products of 11 out of 18 minced meat brands do not meet the standards:

  • In minced meat “Azbuka Vkusa”, “Rococo”, SPAR, “Perekrestok”, “Myasnov”, “Chernyshikhinsky Meat” and “Yaroslavsky Broiler” – excesses in the number of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms;
  • In the products of “Troekurovo”, “Every day” and “Chernyshikhinsky meat” – bacteria of the group of Escherichia coli;
  • Minced meat of Svoya, VkusVill, Chernyshikhinsky Meat and Yaroslavsky Broiler brands contain pathogenic microorganisms, including salmonella;
  • The brands “Troekurovo” and “Crossroads” have listeria.

In Miratorg’s products, Roskachestvo found fiber that was not declared on the label. Fiber was also found in the products of three more brands, but in these cases the manufacturer warned about it. Manufacturers received information from Roskachestvo and began “corrective measures.”
