In 2024, Rosatom intends to carry out physical launches at nuclear power plants in Bangladesh and India. According to the head of the company, Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom is “closely approaching” the physical launch in Turkey.
“This year we have two physical launches abroad absolutely planned: this is the Rooppur station in Bangladesh and this is the third block of Kudankulam in India. We are close to the physical start-up in Turkey, the commissioning work there will definitely be completely completed,” Mr. Likhachev told Rossiya 24 (quoted from TASS).
A number of agreements with other countries are at the stage of high readiness, the head of Rosatom noted. So, in Belarus they are talking about “shouldn’t we look at the third block of a new station”; in Turkey, negotiations are underway on another four-block station. In addition, negotiations are underway with partners from the Middle East. Within 1.5–2 years, Armenia will decide on the format for the development of nuclear energy.
