Rusatom Healthcare JSC (a subsidiary of the state corporation “Rosatom”) and LLC Medtech Alliance Engineering (supplier of Russian and foreign medical equipment) have established a joint venture (JV) for the sale and maintenance of medical equipment. About it informs press service of Rosatom.

The joint venture was named “Health Technology Alliance”. It will sell medical equipment, including equipment manufactured by Rosatom, in Russia and abroad.

The company will also repair domestic and foreign medical equipment. We are talking about the services of installation, production, assembly, repair, replacement of parts, etc. In addition, the Health Technologies Alliance will design and comprehensively equip medical facilities, the press service added.

Now Rosatom produces 16 types of medical equipment, including the Onyx teletherapy complex and the Brachium gamma-therapy complex. In the near future, the state corporation will also begin assembling localized magnetic resonance imaging scanners. It is expected that in 2026 they will become completely domestic.

In February, Roszdravnadzor offered allow, from September 1, 2023, the repair of medical equipment with non-original spare parts. The agency fears the imposition of Western sanctions against the Russian healthcare industry, which has not yet been affected by the restrictions. In the event of further sanctions pressure, the industry may have problems with the supply of original components or accessories.

In the spring of 2022, the government restricted the export of medical equipment from Russia to all countries, with the exception of the EAEU, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, without special permits from the relevant ministries. In July, manufacturers of medical equipment asked the government to relax this measure, pointing out the risk of a secondary shortage of equipment in the market. After that, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that they were working on lifting the ban on the export of medical equipment.
