Rock and roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis dies

American singer, pianist, composer, one of the founders and leading performers of rock and roll Jerry Lee Lewis has died.
According to USA Today, the musician died at the age of 87 at his home in DeSoto County, Mississippi, near Memphis.
The publication notes that together with Little Richard and Fats Domino Lewis made the piano an instrument of rock and roll. And in 1957, two of his most famous hits “Whole Lot of Shakin’ Going On” and “Great Balls of Fire” blew up the charts.
In 1986, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was created and Jerry Lee Lewis became one of the 10 original members.
