The European bank Revolut, registered in Lithuania, has suspended servicing its bank cards in Belarus since October 13. The bank’s message leads LRT.
“We are blocking payment card payments in Belarus,” the credit institution said. Previously, Revolut allowed customers to pay for purchases and withdraw a limited amount of cash from their bank cards in Belarus.
In June, Revolut tightened its requirements for Russians and Belarusians in connection with EU restrictions. The bank blocked their accounts if they did not present documents confirming the right to remain in the EU for more than 180 days.
In the fall, the Baltic companies Luminor, SEB, Swedbank, and iauli bankas stopped servicing cards in Belarus.
