Retreats are being integrated into business – Kommersant FM

Transformational retreats are becoming fashionable. Russian business is devoting more and more time and money to personal and team spiritual practices. As Kommersant FM found out, businesses are increasing budgets for corporate training. Personal growth sessions were among the top requests. The average bill in Moscow is 60 thousand rubles. in 45 minutes online. Leadership programs start from 1 million rubles. How much do entrepreneurs spend on such practices? And why don’t companies advertise their participation in spiritual trainings? Aelita Kurmukova found out.

“Become the best version of yourself!” is the slogan, for example, of the Swiss corporate training institute Tlex. His portfolio includes 200 companies in 30 countries, including Russia. Before SVO, the major customers of such programs were representatives of Western enterprises. But they left, but the practices remained.

The budgets of Russian businesses are slightly lower, but there are noticeably more consumers of transformational trainings, shares commercial director of Tlex Russia Veronica Maalouf: “There are companies that make announcements throughout the group, for example, online and offline programs, and employees sign up at will. The company employs 400 people, 20 can come to the training.

And there are coordinated leadership programs, for them this is already mandatory. Here, at the level of understanding, there is a need to acquire new skills in order to achieve greater results. There are formats, such as the so-called neurophysiology – what happens to us when we constantly switch from task to task. On average, a full-fledged program for four days of two hours costs about 350 thousand rubles. Up to 50 people can participate.”

The names of corporate customers are not disclosed. But this list includes large IT structures, real estate agencies, consulting, the industrial sector and even the parliamentary corps. Typically, companies begin team training with online sessions.

They help, so to speak, test the waters and understand whether employees are ready for transformation. The asking price is 60 thousand rubles. in 45 minutes. But leadership programs cost an average of 1.5 million rubles. But it can be extended for a year. And such practices are the best investment in yourself and your team, says Olga Blagoveshchenskaya, founder of the AIFC group of companies:

“I went to two programs at the same time. And spent 3.5 million rubles. over the past year for all these transformations and training. Personal growth, I think, is a very cool scheme. I myself studied in the women’s leadership program at Skolkovo. And I think the fastest way is to go to someone you want to learn from.”

Transformational practices help you understand yourself and your business partners. And you can always find both time and money for this, adds Nailya Mustafina, CEO of Fashion 2 customer: “I thought it would be interesting to come to a transformation retreat to reassemble myself and somehow relax.

The new approach to self-development, to working with methods of concentration and deconcentration of attention interested me, and I decided to take a year of training, spending about €10 thousand on it. The result turned out to be more than effective, priorities are now set correctly. Of course, this is just a tremendous help and a huge experience when working with your employees, partners and clients.”

But big business prefers not to talk about their spiritual practices. Especially do not advertise retreat trips to so-called places of power and love for meditation. And the course “The Art of Silence” is in the top requests. Silence in business is also taught – the price starts from 50 thousand rubles. in two days – this is the most budget option.

Often, excessive passion for spirituality ends in dismissals. Here I remember the “arrangement” practices and classes on “ontological management” of the head of Uralsib, Nikolai Tsvetkov. Esotericism is not for everyone. And often “spiritual practices” are packaged into healthy lifestyle courses, shares businessman and corporate program trainer Vlad Safonov:

“When something related to spirituality is brought up, it causes rejection among many and can even be regarded as a sect. That’s why we don’t have a word about yoga or Sanskrit in our courses. Yes, breathing techniques, mindfulness meditation. In fact, spirituality is a soft skill. All over the world, large companies are looking in this direction – the same Microsoft, Coca-Cola and Shell. Russian business does not yet have a clear understanding that there is a need to move in this direction.”

So far, among the large corporate customers of soft power trainings, as Kommersant FM’s interlocutors say, there are Russian successors of departed international offices. But among them there are also local tobacco companies. A two-day transformation course for 40 people costs €4 thousand on average, an individual course for top executives costs from €10 thousand.
