Residents of the Zaporozhye region will be able to exchange Ukrainian hryvnias for rubles in the banks of the region within three months, until April 1, 2023. This was announced by the chairman of the government of the region Anton Koltsov. After January 1, the circulation of the Ukrainian currency in Zaporozhye stops.
“Individuals will be able to exchange the hryvnia at any branch of the PSB and MRB bank until April 1, 2023, for now, without limiting the amount,” said Mr. Koltsov (quoted by TASS).
According to him, some restrictions apply only to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. They will have to draw up special acts indicating the amount of revenue in hryvnias that they will have at 00:00 on December 31, 2022, and then submit acts to local banks by January 20, 2023.
“After January 20, these acts will no longer be accepted … Then they will have the opportunity to change the registered amount into rubles,” Anton Koltsov explained.
According to the order of the government of the Zaporozhye region, from January 1, 2023, all prices in the region will be presented only in rubles. Now the hryvnia exchange rate in the Zaporozhye region is 1.25 rubles.
From January 1, use the hryvnia also stop in the Kherson region. The new regions became part of Russia on 30 September.
