Residents of Russia appreciated the quality of brand products after the change of foreign owners

The quality of products and services of foreign brands that sold their business in Russia to new owners has decreased, according to 30% of Russians, follows from the results survey All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM).

At the same time, 27% of respondents believe that the quality has remained at the same level, and 11% – that it has improved. 32% of respondents found it difficult to answer this question. Men (38%), young people aged 18-34 (55-48%), residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg (41%) and million-plus cities (37%) spoke more often about the deterioration in quality.

At the same time, the majority of respondents (43%) have a positive attitude towards the very practice of continuing to work and changing the names of foreign brands that have left Russia, 39% are neutral, and another 15% are rather negative.

Since the end of February, many foreign companies have announced the suspension or termination of work in Russia, a number of brands have sold their businesses to new owners. For example, McDonald’s announced it was pulling out of the Russian market in May and then sold 718 restaurants in Russia to local licensee Alexander Govor. On June 12, the first establishments under the new name “Tasty – and that’s it” opened in Moscow. Rapper Timati, restaurateur Anton Pinsky and the Sindika company bought Starbucks assets in Russia, restarting the business under the Stars Coffe brand.
