M.Video-Eldorado is the first in Russia opens pre-order for new Apple smartphones — iPhone 14. Original iPhones with service and warranty will be available to owners of virtual certificates after the official global start of device sales.
After M.Video-Eldorado announced the possibility of pre-ordering, the head of the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC), Sergey Plugotarenko, told RIA Novosti that fraudsters could start impersonating an official retailer.
“Even in the current market conditions with a change in the logic of supply, as the leading seller of Apple gadgets and the platform where consumers are used to buying them, we are making every effort to ensure that original smartphones become available to our customers,”— informed head of the Telecom department of M.Video-Eldorado Nikita Tikhvinsky.
As reported TASS in the re:Store press service, pre-order is not available at the moment – Apple officially left Russia due to sanctions. Telecom operators selling Apple smartphones (Beeline, MTS and Megafon) declined to comment. We could not comment on the possibility of pre-ordering the iPhone in Svyaznoy. Wildberries reported that new iPhone models will appear on the marketplace as soon as they are available in Russia.
“There remains a risk that some scammers in the wake of this promotion from the official retailer may try to “mimic” and impersonate him,” Mr. Plugotarenko commented on the situation with the pre-order of the new iPhone.
According to the expert, it should not be ruled out that there may be problems with the delivery of the gadget within the specified time frame. Also, according to the head of the RAEC, there is always a risk associated with the import of devices for parallel import, in particular, that the smartphone may not work on the territory of the importing country.
Apple will show the new iPhones on September 7th. According to Bloomberg, Apple will show four new smartphones: two “younger” and two “older” models. iPhone 14 will look similar to last year’s gadget. And the mini version will be replaced by a device with an enlarged screen diagonal. The chips in the “younger” models will remain the same – A15 Bionic.
