President Vladimir Putin again denied the fact of deprivatization in Russia. However, according to him, if property was acquired in violation of the law and is used to the detriment of the country, then appropriate measures must be taken. Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, in turn, said that as a result of the work of his department, it was possible to return to the state the assets of strategic enterprises worth more than 1 trillion rubles. The RSPP, for its part, asks to somehow regulate this process. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize believes that business will have to come to terms with this state of affairs.

Vladimir Putin, speaking at the board of the General Prosecutor’s Office, again repeated his own thesis that there is no deprivatization in Russia and is not expected. And he himself is categorically against this. However, if the sale and acquisition of property initially occurred in violation of the law, and, moreover, it is now being used to the detriment of the state, then appropriate measures must be taken. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation is actively involved in this.

According to the head of the department, Igor Krasnov, thanks to the coordinated and effective work of his subordinates, the assets of strategic enterprises worth more than 1 trillion rubles were returned to the state. Naturally, it is not so simply “returned”, but by a court decision, that is, by law, if anyone has any doubts about this.

By the way, prosecutors are very worried and care about business. An example of this is the moratorium on large-scale inspections of companies. Supervisory agencies intend to continue to comply with it and refrain from the above-mentioned large-scale inspections. But despite this, there are those in the entrepreneurial environment who try to ask timid questions. Their main argument is that the nineties, when this privatization was carried out, was, let’s say, an era with a minus sign. Lawlessness reigned all over the place at that time; embezzlers and other villains were hiding under the guise of democracy. So state property was distributed as and to whomever it was necessary, sometimes for next to nothing.

That’s how it is, only everyone took advantage of this disgrace, or almost everyone, and now only individual capitalists are punished.

In addition, it may be that many such owners have developed their business over almost 30 years and bring benefits to the state. But then prosecutors came to them with the words, they say, we are taking away the assets, because you, dear comrade, violated the law a long time ago. And the Russian government, of course, is humane and fair, but we have suspicions that you are managing your enterprise incorrectly and are trading with unfriendly countries. Now the court will sort it out according to the law. Thus, after long wanderings, lost assets are returned to their native state bosom.

At the same time, we have such an organization – the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs or, as it is called, the “trade union of oligarchs.” The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is trying, although not to stop it, to at least somehow regulate this process. The President is expected at their congress in order to express to him all the problems and aspirations. Maybe this will help in some way, maybe not.

Actually, what is the problem? It has been clearly stated that there is no deprivatization in Russia, which means there is nothing to talk about.

There are individual cases, but this is what the court decided. Challenge his verdict legally. Do you want to fix the statute of limitations? You can think about this. But not all at once; first, the initiative must be approved by ministries and departments. If everything goes smoothly, then you are welcome, we are not your enemies. But, you understand, the situation is complicated. Therefore, relaxations are in the future, not now.
