Register of brewers created in Russia

President Vladimir Putin signed law, aimed at tightening control over the production and circulation of brewing products, cider, poiret and mead. It involves the creation of a register of manufacturers of such products. Organizations that are not included in the register will be prohibited from production.
The law comes into force on September 1, the register will be maintained by Rosalkogolregulirovanie. The register will automatically include manufacturers who, as of August 31, have permission to use the main technical equipment with a production capacity of not more than 300 thousand decaliters per year, without being equipped with measuring instruments and accounting for the volume of production, or who have such equipment. Manufacturers with a capacity of no more than 100 thousand decaliters per year will be included in the register in a simplified manner.
From February 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, on-site assessments of the compliance of manufacturers included in the register with all requirements will be carried out. The law also provides that beer and beer drinks, cider, poiret, mead are subject to mandatory labeling.
State Duma accepted the law on the creation of the register of brewers in the third reading on March 21. From April 1 in Russia started to act rules for mandatory labeling of keg-packed beer, including non-alcoholic beer. From October 1, labeling standards will also apply to beer in glass and polymer packaging.
