Refineries cannot increase output of petroleum products before damper reduction

The output of gasoline and diesel fuel in Russia for the first three weeks of August (from July 31 to August 20) remained approximately at the level of the same period in July, follows from Rosstat data. Over the past days of August, Russian oil refineries (ORs) produced 7.77 million tons of oil products – 18,600 tons, or 0.24%, less than in the period from 3 to 23 July.
Gasoline output increased by 1.2% to 2.55 million tons, while diesel fuel production decreased by 1% and amounted to 5.22 million tons. In general, for the seven months of this year, according to Rosstat, refineries produced 25.6 million tons of gasoline (+3.7% compared to the same period in 2022) and 51.9 million tons of diesel fuel (+6.8%). In July this year, 3.8 million tons of gasoline were produced, which is 1% less than in July 2022 and 3.2% more compared to the previous month of 2023. Also in July, 7.8 million tons of diesel were produced – growth was 3.7% compared to July last year and 6.8% compared to June this year.
