The Red Wings flight Moscow-Hambantota, which was delayed for many hours at Zhukovsky airport, flew to Sri Lanka, representatives of the carrier told RIA Novosti. Moscow Transport Prosecutor’s Office conducts checking the validity of the flight delay for a possible violation of the rights of passengers.
The airline said that the flight, which was supposed to take off the day before, on January 3, at 22:20, was “delayed to ensure flight safety,” without disclosing other details.
As the publication noted Msk1.ru, the flight departure was postponed several times (once people were brought onto the plane, but after a while they were taken back), more than 400 passengers were forced to wait for boarding at an airport with cafes that were not working. Red Wings reported that it promptly provided all passengers with hot meals and water.
