The working group under the government commission on the implementation of the “regulatory guillotine” considered the planned introduction of labeling of beer drinks redundant. This is stated in the minutes of the meeting of the group, held on August 19, reports RBC with a link to the document.
Most of the group members supported the abolition of the mandatory labeling requirement for brewed products and fermented drinks (cider, poiret, mead). Some of the meeting participants voted for postponing the labeling deadlines. How many people supported this idea is not specified. The co-chairman of the working group, Ilya Lomakin-Rumyantsev, considered that it was “hardly justified” to make a decision to abolish the labeling without taking into account the consequences for business and the state.
Operator of the marking system “Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies” (CRPT) will start to the mandatory labeling of beer in kegs from April 1, 2023. At CRPT promised provide the industry with marking equipment free of charge. By forecast Union of Russian Brewers, if mandatory labeling is introduced in Russia, beer production will be reduced by 20-30% and its cost will increase by 10%.
