Raiffeisenbank will change the terms of servicing accounts in euros for individuals from March 13. The commission on a balance of more than €5 thousand will be 1% per month, but not less than €50. For amounts up to €5 thousand, no commission will be charged, it says press release.

From March 1 to March 31, special conditions will apply for transfers in euros: the commission for cross-border transfers will be 1% of the amount when made in Raiffeisen online, 1.5% when made in the office. The maximum commission amount is €500.

“We make a decision to change the conditions, focusing on the number of available instruments for the effective placement of funds in euros,” says the credit institution.

In March 2023, the European Central Bank demanded from the Austrian banking group Raiffeisen Bank to close its business in Russia. Since August Raiffeisenbank suspended acceptance and purchase of cash dollars and euros from individuals. In October the bank stopped accepting rubles to foreign currency accounts through cash desks. Raiffeisenbank paid in the Russian Federation €47 million in excess profit tax. In February 2024, the Austrian regulator began investigation into Raiffeisen Bank, suspecting the bank of money laundering due to payments from the Russian Federation.
