President Vladimir Putin will traditionally take part in the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). He will speak in person at the session on June 16, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
“Yes, a speech is being prepared,” a Kremlin spokesman told TASS in response to a related question. He also confirmed that part of the plenary session would be held in a discussion format, as usual.
SPIEF will be held from 14 to 17 June. Financial Times wrotethat several Western speakers announced in the forum program will not take part in it. Among them are former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and ex-Yandex shareholder Ilya Strebulaev. From foreign leaders to the forum will arrive Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.
