Russian President Vladimir Putin signed law on toughening penalties for spam calls and advertising of loans in violation of the law. On April 3, the document was approved by the Federation Council.

According to the new amendments, advertising loans using spam calls will be punishable by a fine of 10 thousand to 20 thousand rubles. for individuals, for officials – from 20 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, for legal entities – from 300 thousand to 1 million rubles.

The law also increases fines for credit institutions and microfinance organizations for advertising loans in violation of the law. If creditors do not indicate the full loan amount, employees may be fined from 40 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, legal entities – from 600 thousand rubles. up to 1.6 million rubles.

According to the Law on Advertising, data on the full cost of the loan must be provided to the client before data on interest rates. In this case, the full loan amount must be indicated in a font no smaller in size.
