Putin on the decision to leave foreign aircraft in the Russian Federation: to live with wolves is to howl like a wolf

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev made the right decision to leave foreign aircraft in Russia. According to the president, Russia “was not rude to anyone” – its opponents behaved in a boorish way.

“Vitaly Gennadievich (Saveliev.— “b”) made such a voluntaristic decision, took it and left everything with us. And he did the right thing, because if they behave with us in such a boorish way, then to live with wolves is to howl like a wolf, ”the head of state said at a meeting with representatives of the aviation industry (quoted by TASS).

He noted that this decision helped save the industry. Vladimir Putin added that he “quarreled” with Mr. Savelyev and told him about the need to pay attention to the purchase of domestic equipment.

“Moreover, we are not rude to anyone, we are ready to pay, and that’s all, but we simply cannot allow the industry to collapse,” the president said.

On March 14, 2022, Vladimir Putin signed a law on registering the rights to foreign aircraft leased by Russian companies and issuing domestic airworthiness certificates to them. This allowed Russian airlines to use foreign ships on domestic flights. February 1, the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency informedthat foreign aircraft can “fly safely” until 2030.
