Putin announced the need to reconstruct 18 airports before the end of the year

By the end of this year, the infrastructure of 18 airports should be reconstructed; the government has allocated 40 billion rubles for this purpose. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with representatives of the aviation industry today, opening a new passenger terminal at Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport via videoconferencing.
“By the end of this year, the infrastructure of 18 airports should be reconstructed, and next year another 16, significant resources are allocated from the federal budget for these purposes – in 2023, 40 billion rubles were allocated for the reconstruction of 18 airfields, and for the reconstruction of another 16 in 2024 – 35.5 billion rubles,” he said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).
According to Putin, the modernization of the airport network will provide a more comfortable life for people, simplify their movement, and also become a good incentive for the development of regions.
During this meeting, Putin also urged rely on domestic products for air transportation, emphasizing that the aviation industry is very important for Russia. The head of state promised to ensure the development of the aviation industry. According to him, Russia will definitely enter international markets with its own aircraft.
