Russian President Vladimir Putin established a special procedure for transactions with shares in Russian limited liability companies (LLC) for persons from unfriendly countries, should from the decree published on the official portal of legal information.
In accordance with the provisions of the decree, transactions with LLC shares with the participation of residents of unfriendly countries will be possible only in agreement with the government commission for foreign investment control.
In addition, the head of state allowed LLCs, in which shares are owned by strategic enterprises, not to disclose data on work to participants from unfriendly countries. Putin also allowed sanctioned banks to fulfill foreign exchange obligations to Russian companies in rubles.
In early August, the president banned until the end of 2022 transactions with shares of foreigners from “unfriendly countries” in Russian strategic enterprises, fuel and energy companies and banks.
We are talking about transactions that directly or indirectly entail a change in the rights of ownership, use or disposal of securities, shares in the authorized capital of Russian legal entities, rights and obligations in production sharing agreements, joint venture agreements or other documents on the basis of which investment projects are implemented. in Russia. According to the text of the decree, its validity can be extended an unlimited number of times.
