Putin decided to transfer Rublev’s “Trinity” to the Russian Orthodox Church

Andrei Rublev’s “Trinity” icon returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. The corresponding decision was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On official website of the Moscow Patriarchate it is reported that the icon will be exhibited in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and a year later it will be transferred to the Trinity Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra.
Rublev’s “Trinity” was taken to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra in July 2022. At the end of the year, she was returned to the Tretyakov Gallery. 61 sections were damaged on it, 5 of which were recognized as emergency and in need of strengthening.
